Arthur Edward Waite designed the deck in collaboration with Pamela Colman Smith, an American artist. Arthur Edward Waite and Pamela Colman Smith was a member of the Order of the Golden Dawn, an occult society of the time. This classic deck has long been a favorite of beginners as well as tarot enthusiasts.
